Ammar Al-Jaour

Facilitator Details:

Ammar Al Jaour is an experienced trainer in disaster and crisis management. He currently serves as the Disaster Management Coordinator at Terre des Hommes – Italy and lectures in the Disaster and Crisis Management Diploma program at the Syrian International Academy. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Damascus.

Ammar began his training path with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, where he trained volunteers on the Sphere Handbook (2011 edition) and continued to provide specialized training covering the entire handbook, focusing on protection and disaster management. He also participated in the review of the Sphere Handbook 2018.

In his training sessions, Ammar emphasizes the importance of protection in emergencies and disasters. He is also a Trainer of Trainers in two other areas of the Humanitarian Standards Partnership: the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability and the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies.
